Community Give-Back Program

Supporting local students, families, and nonprofit organizations is an important part of what DJ iShine stands for.
Each year, a limited number of school dances and qualified community celebrations are offered at a reduced community rate, allowing meaningful local events to receive the same care, professionalism, and positive energy trusted by couples and organizations throughout Columbus.

This structured program makes it possible to give back in a sustainable and intentional way, while preserving availability for weddings and private celebrations already reserved.

Who This Program Serves

The Community Give-Back Program is designed to support:

  • Public middle and high school dances

  • PTO-funded or school-sponsored student events

  • Registered nonprofit youth and family organizations

  • Local community celebrations centered around students or families

Events hosted by private schools, upscale venues, corporations, ticketed fundraisers, or most college and university organizations may still be welcomed, but typically fall under standard private or corporate event pricing rather than the community rate.

Limited consideration may be given to small, minimally funded college or university student organizations hosting free, community-focused events with clear cultural, educational, or service impact.
All such requests are reviewed through the Community Give-Back application process and remain subject to availability and program alignment.

Priority is given to organizations within the greater Columbus, Ohio and Central Ohio region, with limited consideration for nearby surrounding areas based on schedule availability.

Community Event Format & Rate

Approved community events are offered at a flat community rate of $500 and are designed for simple, student-focused celebrations.

This format includes:

  • Up to 2 hours of music coverage

  • Single-speaker sound system suitable for school or small event spaces

  • iPad-based music performance

  • Wired microphone for announcements and coordination

To preserve availability for weddings and full private celebrations:

  • Full production lighting and multi-speaker setups are not included

  • Professional DJ controller performance is not part of the community format

Additional time, expanded sound, or full DJ production may be available at standard event rates, subject to availability.

Limited Availability

To maintain quality and balance with previously reserved weddings:

  • Only a small number of community events are accepted each calendar year

  • Peak wedding dates and high-demand weekends are excluded

  • Requests are reviewed on a first-approved, first-reserved basis

Application & Approval

All community-rate events require a short application and approval process to ensure the program serves organizations aligned with its purpose.

Applications are reviewed based on:

  • School or nonprofit affiliation

  • Community impact and student focus

  • Event timing and schedule availability

  • Alignment with the mission of the program

Approved organizations will be contacted with next steps and available date options.
